"The flapping of a butterfly's wings can cause a hurricane in another part of the world"

Hello again, in this post, apparently the last one, I will talk about a topic that I love. It won't be the music this time. It will be a theory that I have been studying for almost 4 years: the "chaos theory" or better known as "the butterfly effect". The theory explains that every event can trigger even bigger events, giant consequences with other people, facts or things. Have you ever heard the phrase "everything happens for a reason", well, chaos theory would explain that premise.      How? Let's say I decide not to write this blog, my mark is deficient in English and I will have to repeat the course next semester, I will not have a free scholarship, therefore I will have to leave the university.       It ends up in uncontrollable events over time. This, on a small scale, is even more complicated when studying on a global scale, where everything that happens in Australia could have repercussions in Europe, how? who knows. The way to explain

"I've talked about this before"

Hi! I think I've talked about this before, but it's something I really like to talk about.       What I want to continue studying later, in the future. I would like to study, later on, in the future, Cultural Studies. Specifically, Cultural Anthropology, because it's a subject I like very much in anthropology.      The main reason is to be able to give more relevance to native peoples in Chilean society. Especially, the peoples that are not identified as such. Although cultural studies are very varied, I would like to be able to study them closely, to show that the original peoples (exterminated by the Chilean and Argentine state) in Patagonia have not disappeared. The identity of these peoples is very important to me.       Even though I should study this subject in Chile (obviously because I want to study the people of this territory), the State does not give it the importance it deserves, so it becomes a neglected topic. I would like to study it in Chile, but also t

Hi! In my fifth post I want to talk about the work I want to do in the future. It is difficult to talk about the identity of native peoples. These native peoples have been exterminated by colonialism and the Chilean state. However, what I want to do is to help Chilean society understand the existence of the native peoples of the south of the country. However, what I want to do is to help Chilean society understand the existence of the native peoples of the south of the country.      Specifically, my work would make the native peoples not only recognized, but also understood.      The most fun part of it is that it's a field job, so I'll be constantly on the move, on something I really love. All this has a lot of travel, because it is constantly studying the native peoples and their lives.       As it is difficult to talk about identity, it is also difficult to talk about salary: currently, in the State of Chile, who would pay for a study that talks about the indigenous gen

"Surprise, they're not sea spider"

In my fourth blog, I will talk about one of my favorite animals: octopus.       The octopus is a marine animal with eight limbs, three hearts and a brain, however, it has no bones, it is an invertebrate. It is an animal that has many ways of escaping from its predators, given its limbs and its great intelligence. In addition to using his eight "arms", he also uses his ink tank to escape from his adversaries, such as marine predators or human predators. They feed on smaller animals, such as molluscs and algae.  Although it is assumed that they are sea spiders, because of their "eight arms", there are actually six arms and two legs, one of which is their reproductive organ that helps them to mate with females of the same species.       Personally, I love octopuses. Their shape, their skills and their varied species, are what catch my eye the most.  There are octopuses that, to escape their predators, camouflage themselves with their surroundings, clinging to ston

On my third post, I want to talk about something I really love, music. Although in the second post I already talked about something similar, I prefer to give a complete post to music in general.      Personally, it's one of the things that motivates me, keeps me happy or even makes me sad sometimes. I think that's the idea of music, that it transmits emotions. I can tell you that every day I listen to music, whatever it is.      Although I have many musical tastes, I always look for new wave, lo-fi, post-punk and what is known as "indie" music.  It's funny that the days when I don't listen to music (to read, to study, to do jobs, to cook or just to listen), are my worst days, bad things happen to me or I feel worse.      It has become a habit: to listen to music every day because makes me happy; at any time, at any moment, if there is music, I am happy. Even as I write this I'm listening to music, it's really something that became my day-to-day.

This is my second post, this time I will talk about the best concert I attended during the last months of last year. I only refer to "the last months of the year" because during that time I attended many musical events called "tocatas" which makes the list a bit long.      On November 21, 2019, I attended the Interpol concert at the Caupolican Theatre in Santiago. I went with two friends and we really had a good time.      Interpol is a band from New York, with a musical style called "post-punk revival": sounds similar to those of bands like Joy Division or The Cure years ago, but with a more modern sound.      The concert was something wonderful, the atmosphere generated by the lights, the smoke, the small space and a big "disco" ball on the roof made everybody feel in a concert full of melancholy.       An anecdote that I remember very well, was the way in which an atmosphere of protest was maintained (for October 18) despite being in a c

Manchester & Barcelona

In my first post, I want to talk about the countries I want to know about. There are two of these countries, one of which is for academic purposes. This country is Spain, the city I want to know is Barcelona, its university is my goal.      The other one, because I want to know the life in that place, the infrastructure and all their history and culture: Manchester, U.K.      Why Barcelona? Mainly because of its university. Although it's not one of the best universities in the world in relation to anthropology, it is about ethnographic study, which I want to be part. Although Catalan is spoken in Barcelona, classes are also given in Spanish, so adapting to the language is not a problem.      Why Manchester? It is a city that "calls me a lot", being my main destination when I want to decide where I want to travel when I have money.  It is a very important city for the industrial revolution in the 19th century, as well as a very big influence on the music industry in t
